Enter the Academy.
Dear Reader,
Over 6,500 of apps exist to make your iPhone a better camera. But there are no apps designed to make you a better photographer. That’s about to change.
I love taking photos and I want to keep getting better. My bookshelves have dozens of photo books. I’ve studied at the Photo Center Northwest and loved connecting with others who are equally passionate about visual storytelling. I carry a camera wherever I go.
Existing iPhone photography apps have mastered the “lightweight snapshot sharing” part of photography. But I want more. I want an app that helps me get better through practice. I want an app that gives me the inspiration, instruction, and encouragement I need to get out and shoot every day. And I want an app that connects me to a like-minded group of photo enthusiasts so we can learn from each other.
That app doesn’t exist, so I’m writing it: The Frozen Photon Academy.
